It had a couple of my pet-peeves. My biggest issue was no follow through. The last scene is their escape. The story stops. The epilogue is the beginning for the next book. The epilogue does not follow up with the present book's story. That irritates me. Makes me feel like I was left hanging. The author could have put that tiny excerpt from the next book after true epilogue for this book. My opinion onlyProduct details

Tyral Mated to the Alien Kate Rudolph Starr Huntress 9781542881128 Books Reviews
great read
Tyral was returning to see his family one last time before he reached his 30th year and died, according to the curse of his people, because he was not mated. His final search for a suitable mate had failed. But before he could land on the planet, a tractor beam latched on to his ship. Pirate slavers were about to attack him.
Dorsey Kwan, a human freighter pilot, had been a prisoner of the slavers for about a week. They kept her disoriented by not letting her sleep more than a couple hours and by changing the timing of her meals so she could not figure out the passage of time. She heard a scuffle outside of her cell. Then later she heard a knock on the wall. Ty talked with her and, from her descriptions of her time there, he said he had an idea for an escape. Soon after, he was opening her cell but was shot in the face with a blaster. Dorsey knocked the enemy guard out by kicking the door into him and she led a blinded Ty into the hall. Fortunately, she recognized the type of ship this was and took them through a ventilation shaft to the ship’s bay for escape.
Ty put healing gel on his eyes and at last was able to see Dorsey. Both of them felt the attraction, but she could not be his mate – could she? She was human! But he kissed her and yes, she was his mate and the bond was formed. But there was so much more adventure to come! Would they stay together or go their own way? And who was really after Dorsey?
I loved the way the author provided information to the reader through details observed by Darcy and the conversations with Ty. It almost felt like you were there with them! Immediately, both characters were likeable and trustworthy. Having the hope that Ty inspired in her made all the difference to Darcy. The story flowed easily and the twists and turns drew the reader right in! I highly recommend this wonderful book! I’m a new fan of this author and will definitely be sticking with her going forward! I voluntarily read a review copy of this book and my comments reflect my honest opinion.
I enjoyed reading this book, it has a great storyline. Can't wait to read more from this series.
Things sure moved rapidly in this story! It started with Dorsey and Ty being kidnapped, escaping, arrested, being kidnapped again then escaping again! Wow, what a network of intrigue!! This was a really enjoyable story!!
Two unlucky people caught up in a deadly scheme by an evil man and they are clueless as to what it is all about. Caught by pirates, they were about to be sold into slavery. But Tyral is a fighter and is not about to be sold to anyone. He and his fellow prisoner, Delsy, fight their way to take command of pirate ship and then their adventures really begin, with love paving the way.
To say more would ruin it for you, so I recommend you try it yourself.
Loved this. The character of Tyral was, to me, sort of heartbreaking. I could really feel his sense of hopelessness and loss. He was truly on shutdown and ready to cash it in. But at virtually the last moment, he meets the one person he needs. And even though he was glad not to die, he was even happier that he met someone who would be a partner. I call that some really hopeful stuff. Definitely, the sex was hot--yeah! But there was so much more to these characters, and I loved the things that drew them together--survival of course, the desire for answers, and most of all, loneliness. There is so much loneliness in the world. It's refreshing to read about a pretend world where the characters aren't perfect, but they are driven by the same things we are.
Cutting it close is an understatement. Tyral is one week from turning 39, the age in which his species dies if they have not found their fated mate, their denya. He is heading back home to his family for one last visit when he is kidnapped and thrown in a cell. The person in the neighboring cell, a human woman named Dorsey, helps him escape and he immediately realizes she is his denya. She also feels the pull to be with him and they make love while on the run. They must head back to the consortium to figure out who kidnapped them and why. They must dodge pirates, warlords and aliens who want to silence them. At the same time, their need for each other grows stronger. This was a fascinating alien romance and the authors did an excellent job of describing the action.
